New Tax Court / Federal Court phishing scam

This post from the Federal Court of Canada about two new phishing scams is worth noting. Callers are being told about being “under investigation” by a “Federal Tax Court” (which isn’t called that). In another scam subpoenas purportedly issued by the Federal Court are being sent with demands for payments.

If you receive documents, especially by e-mail, purporting to be from the Tax Court, there are ways of knowing whether they are genuine.
