Craig in The Lawyer’s Daily on Law Society of Ontario matters

Craig wrote in The Lawyer’s Daily earlier this month about the ongoing controversy within the Law Society of Ontario over Bencher retaliation against the LSO’s Equity Advisory Group chair and other equity-seeking members of the legal profession.

The controversy continues: some Benchers (like out Board of Governors) today introduced motions at Convocation to single out and punish that lawyer and the Equity Advisory Group for his speech and statements on equity issues within the LSO. Thankfully, one motion was ruled out of order and the other was tabled. The work of this supposed “free speech” supporting group of Benchers to silence and punish criticism of them continues, however.
